What you need to know in choosing your 10x8 plastic shed...

THERE ARE SO many things to think about when you start shopping for a 10 x 8 plastic shed.

It can be hard to know which one of the many on the market is right for your needs, backyard, and budget.

Although there are many different sizes of shed on the market, a 10 x 8 shed is ideal for anyone with a smaller backyard that needs a place to store a fair amount of garden tools, toys, bikes, and miscellaneous junk.

If you are in a hurry, here is our 10 x 8 plastic shed winner. You can compare it for yourself here

Points to Ponder as Your Search Gets Underway

As you begin your search for a garden shed, one of your first thoughts probably turned to the dimensions of your new shed.

There are a couple of things you need to consider when trying to decide the final size, starting with how much room you have to spare in your backyard.

If you live out in the country, this is probably not an issue, but for the rest of us, size truly does matter.

Why a 10 x 8 Plastic Shed?

When you stop to think about an area that measures 10 feet deep and 8 feet wide, it might not seem like much space. But when you also factor in the sidewalls of most sheds this size are in the neighborhood of 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 feet tall with an even higher peak, the amount of space opens up significantly.

Still not sure this is big enough? Take a roll of masking tape and mark out 10 feet by 8 feet on your floor.

Now you can see how much space your 10 x 8 plastic shed is going to occupy in your backyard and approximately how much space it will have on the inside.  The next thing to do is ask yourself exactly what you are planning to store in your shed.

Do you need storage shelves? What about a floor that can handle a certain amount of weight?

During your search, each listing should cover the inner and outer dimensions, what type of floor, if any, the shed has, and what type of material was used to construct the shed.

The Many Benefits of Plastic Sheds

Over the years, plastic sheds have been given a pretty bad rap. In the beginning, the plastics used to create garden sheds was not ideally suited to the use.

They did not hold up well to the heat of the summer sun or the cold bite of winter. Many faded, ended up with warped roofs and sides, cracked and leaked, or simply fell apart.

Thankfully, this is no longer the case as most manufacturers use their own unique blends of polyethylene and resin to create new plastics that can withstand the hottest scorching sun and the coldest bite of Old Man Winter.

Along with this, these new plastics also offer the following benefits among many:

  1. Plastic sheds tend to be more affordable than either wooden or metal sheds and can be ordered online or purchased locally for direct delivery to your home.
  2. Plastic sheds require virtually nothing in the way of maintenance other than the occasional wash down with a hose. Both wood and metal sheds require a significant amount of annual maintenance to keep them looking good and protected from the environment, rot, and pests.
  3. Plastic sheds tend to range from relatively to extremely easy to assemble.
  4. Plastic sheds are lightweight and easy to move if it should become necessary.
  5. Many plastic sheds do not require any particular form of pad or foundation.

What to Look for in a 10 x 8 Plastic Shed

Ok, so to start with, once you have decided that a 10 x 8 plastic shed is just right for your needs, it is important that you understand not all plastic sheds listed as being 10 x 8 in size are actually this size. Some are slightly larger, some smaller, and only a few are actually this size on the inside.

However, an in the overall scheme of things an inch or two may not make that much of a difference, instead you may need to consider whether a shed that is 10 feet long or one that is 10 feet wide is a better fit for your yard.

Next up, how many doors do you need, will a single door be wide enough to fit everything you plan to store in your shed or would double doors be a better choice? If all you are storing is your garden tools, then a single door is probably enough, but if you are planning to store a lawn mower or your family's bikes, double doors make a better choice.

Does the shed you have been considering come with a built-in floor? Having a built-in floor gives you far more options with regard to what kind of foundation or pad will be needed. Many of them now feature heavy duty floors designed to be placed directly onto a flat section of ground, others may require pavers or a concrete slab.

Single wall or double wall construction? Single wall sheds are less expensive and may prove to be flimsy unless they have a steel frame. Double wall sheds offer far more structural integrity and may come with built-in shelf brackets so that you can add extra storage. While most double wall sheds have steel reinforced roofs, few have steel reinforced walls, but they are typically strong enough to withstand significant snow weight.

Speaking of walls and doors, have you given much thought to security? Can the doors be locked securely to protect your stuff? Is there a window and if there is, can it be secured? A window can provide you with extra light on the inside, but at the same time, it offers yet another port of entry for a dedicated thief.

How much construction experience do you have? When it comes to 10 x 8 plastic sheds or for that matter any other size, there are two basic construction style choices.

The first and easiest method of assembly is the snap together shed. These sheds go together using almost no tools beyond a mallet to help snap the pieces together and can be built in a couple of hours or so. The only real problem with this type of plastic shed is that they tend to come apart in strong winds as the final assembly on many is not very secure.

The other style of plastic shed is the type that bolts together. Here again, we see a split in that some use steel nuts and bolts, while others use plastic hardware. While the plastic hardware will never suffer from any type of corrosion, it lacks the strength of steel.

Steel hardware, on the other hand, is much stronger, but you do run the risk of it corroding unless you paint it. Both offer a much stronger completed construction with steel hardware coming out the clear winner.

5 of the Best 10 x 8 Plastic Sheds Available

By now you have probably already noticed that there are dozens of 10 x 8 plastic sheds for you to consider. This is not surprising as this is one of the most popular sizes out there, in fact, I have one at the back of my garden just for my garden tools.

So to save you a bunch of time and help you narrow down your search, I have created a list containing four of the best plastic sheds in this size just for you.

Lifetime 6405 Outdoor Storage Shed

Double Doors, A Window, Skylights, and Shelving

So you are looking for a good structurally sound 10 x 8 plastic shed, one that can handle just about anything you can throw at it. This shed from Lifetime seems to fit that bill almost perfectly.

It offers an apex style roof with no less than 4 skylights for plenty of natural light, steel reinforced double doors with an internal latch that are lockable, a single shatterproof window, and a pair of screened vents.

On top of this, there are 6 feet 8 inches of headroom. The walls are made from steel reinforced double walled polyethylene for added strength, weather resistance, and load bearing. It is one of the top plastic sheds on the market.

Pros Cons
Steel reinforced construction throughout for added strength, great for high snow load areas Some buyers experienced water leakage at the roof seams
Comes with two shelves and pegboard for added storage convenience The doors tend to warp under long-term exposure to the sun's UV rays
Weather resistant seams help keep everything inside nice and dry Comes in two boxes weighing over 200 lbs. each

Suncast BMS8000 Alpine Shed

True Alpine Shed Style

One of the first things most people notice about this Suncast plastic shed is that it features double wall construction with walls that are a full 1-1/2-inches thick. At 7 1/2 x 10, there is enough room inside for a small garden tractor or a riding lawn mower.

Even better than this, is that the floor has been reinforced in all the right places to hold the weight of your tractor. It features reinforced double doors and no less than 14, yes that's right 14 windows.

There are also a pair of vents in the gables to keep fresh air circulating and help keep your shed from getting too hot in the summer months.

Pros Cons
Plenty of windows for natural light Windows and seals can be challenging to put together
One of the strongest reinforced plastic floors Comes in boxes weighing over 200 lbs. each
Outstanding customer service Assembly manual not very easy to follow in places

Keter Stronghold Resin Storage Shed

Plenty of Storage Space and Room for your Lawn Mower

There are times when a 10 x 8 plastic shed just isn't going to have enough room for everything you need to store. At 10 x 8 this heavy duty shed offers plenty of space.

This shed features a high-pitched roof that not only helps keep the snow at bay but also adds plenty of extra headroom. Open the wide double doors and inside you will find a heavy-duty plastic resin floor that can support your lawn tractor and much more.

There is also a built-in full-length skylight that gives you plenty of natural light.  The two-tone brown color resin is super strong and will fit in practically anywhere.

Pros Cons
High-pitched roof for added interior height The roof can be challenging to slide in place
Heavy duty plastic floor Doors and locking mechanism somewhat flimsy
Extra wide double doors Some pieces may need to be trimmed to get them to fit

Suncast Tremont Storage Shed

Steel Reinforced Double Wall with Multiple Shelf Locations

By now you probably know just how hard it can be to find just the right amount of storage space. The Tremont from Suncast offers a full 574 cubic feet of space complete with a pair of corner storage shelves with no less than eight different positions for them.

The double doors have windows for added interior light and open to 60 inches wide and 72 inches tall. The Tremont also features six skylights and steel reinforced double wall resin construction. The Tremont also comes with a resin floor.

Pros Cons
Shed assembly goes very quickly Must be placed on a level base
Very sturdy once assembled The roof can be hard to assemble
Lots of interior space Several units shipped missing parts or hardware

Lifetime 60001 Outdoor Storage Shed

Steel Reinforced Plastic Construction

Lifetime seems to have mastered the concept of using steel framing and trusses to ensure their plastic sheds can hold up to just about anything Mother Nature can throw at them. This shed offers a pair of 6-foot-high by 4-foot-wide double doors on one end, one large window, and a pair of large skylights.

Inside you will find 4 corner shelves and a pair of peg strips complete with a selection of hanging hardware. The frame and trusses are powder-coated steel and the entire shed is assembled using heavy-duty steel hardware for added strength.

The left door features upper and lower stops, while the right door has an internal latch that keeps both doors closed. The doors have a built-in hasp for a padlock.

Pros Cons
Powder-coated steel frame and trusses for extra strength and durability Comes in 2 boxes with a total weight of over 500 lbs.
Easy to follow instructions with detailed images Takes quite a while to assemble
Bolt together construction holds up better than snap together sheds Shed flexes with changes in temperature making doors hard to open or close

Another Storage Option for You to Consider

While a 10 x 8 plastic shed or one close to it will work well for most, not everyone wants an all plastic or resin shed for a variety of reasons. This next shed is made from vinyl coated galvanized steel that gives you the best of both worlds.

Duramax 00284 Woodbridge Shed with Foundation

Strong Metal Structure Tested for 20Lbs/Sq.Ft. Snow Load

No rust, no rot, and nothing to worry about with this great shed from Duramax. Under the plastic roof, you will find steel-reinforced plastic walls designed to hold up under just about any conditions.

When you anchor this shed to the ground or a foundation, it can easily withstand winds of up to 115 miles per hour. Features a single pair of wide doors that are tall enough for the average person to easily walk through.

One of the things many people like about this shed is the way the outside looks like standard house siding. The roof ridge features a skylight for plenty of natural light on the inside.

Pros Cons
Steel rods in walls for added durability Assembly instructions hard to follow
An available option lets you add another 2.5 feet to the length of the shed You should caulk the roof panels to prevent leaking
Once assembled the structure is very stable The steel frames have sharp edges that can cut your hands

Arrow Shed Vinyl Coated Sheridan Steel Storage

Vinyl Protected Galvanized Steel for Ultimate and Protection

If you are like me and live in an area with tons of snow each winter, you need a garden shed that is going to hold up to the weather. This storage shed from Arrow Shed is built from vinyl coated galvanized steel.

The steel adds plenty of structural strength, while the heavy-duty vinyl coating keeps the steel protected from snow and rain. At 7 feet, the interior peak of the roof gives you plenty of headroom. All parts are predrilled for ease of assembly.

Pros Cons
Vinyl clad steel is very strong Due to design, construction is labor intensive
Parts pre-drilled for easy assembly Metal used in construction is very thin
Strong assembly once completed You must buy or build a base for this shed

The Roundup

Each of the above sheds has a lot to offer, most are relatively easy to assemble and seem to be made to last. As you might expect, there are pros and cons to each of them.

For my money, the Suncast BMS8000 Alpine is the winner as it offers a super heavy duty floor designed to handle the weight of your lawn tractor and no less than 14 windows.

When it comes to choosing, the right shed for your needs, consider size, cost, suitability, and of course the materials used in its construction. In all areas, the Alpine Shed comes out the clear winner.

Shelving

- Does it come standard or do you need to buy some separately

Height

- Is the shed tall enough for brooms, rakes and other long handled garden implements?

Ventilation

- If you plan on storing gas powered push mower, weed wacker and some spare gas, oil and/or paint ventilation is important

- Is the floor/base included or is it an added extra?

The 5 Most Popular 6 x 4 Plastic Sheds

Now you have a good idea of what you should be looking for when shopping for a 6 x 4 plastic shed, here are five of the most popular models available for your consideration.

1. Keter Factor Large 4 x 6 ft. Garden Storage Shed

Inexpensive Yet Functional Storage

keter_factor_large_storage_shed

Keter is one of the better-known brands of resin sheds and offers a pretty wide range of sizes. They are also one of the more affordable brands and in general give you more than you are paying for in terms of quality.

Being a 4 x 6 shed, you aren't going to have room for a riding lawn mower, but then this shed is not really made for that anyway. However, there is plenty of room for your garden tools, kids' toys, and extra junk you don't want to clutter the garage up with.

pros

cons

This shed is the perfect size for small spaces in your backyard. Surprisingly though, is that despite its small footprint, there is plenty of usable room inside

The roof lacks the support needed for heavy loads of wet leaves or snow and will bow if you do not take the time to keep it swept off

The instruction manual is well thought out and detailed making it possible to assemble the shed in around 3 hours or less

The roof design makes for a poor fit that needs to be caulked or it might leak

The resin material used is of very high quality and seems to be very durable

Walls and roof are made of honeycomb plastic that some might find a bit flimsy

2. Suncast BMS6310D 6-Feet by 3-Feet Shed

Tiny but Still Highly Useful

suncast_3_feet-shed

SUNCAST BMS6310D 6-Feet by 3-Feet Shed

Suncast is another very popular brand of plastic shed, this one is a bit smaller than most at only 6 x 3. However, if all you need is somewhere to store your garden tools, you probably don't need much more space than this anyway.

The one thing that truly sets this plastic shed apart is that it is 6 feet wide by 3 feet deep, which is a bit uncommon in this size range. The double doors offer plenty of room to get in and out while the reinforced floor lets you store heavier items inside.

pros

cons

Double wall resin panels for added strength make this shed a good choice for windy regions and add extra security

The slightly smaller size seriously limits the types of things you can store inside. Despite the double doors, you still can't park a riding lawn mower inside.

Steel reinforced roof panels make this shed a better choice if you have low overhanging trees or experience a lot of snow in the winter

The snap together assembly may not offer enough strength if you live in an area with high winds

The narrow depth lets you put this shed in cramped locations or up against a wall of your house without it getting in the way

Instructions do not say you have to install the roof supports first. If you try to add them later, you will find yourself taking the roof back off

3. Keter Manor Large 4 x 6 ft. Garden Storage Shed

Room for your Mower and More

keter_manor_-storage_hed

KETER Manor Large 4 x 6 ft. Resin Outdoor Backyard Garden Storage Shed

At a full 4 x 6, the Manor offers plenty of room for your lawnmower, garden tools, and more. Made of Keter's own brand of plastic resin, this shed will never rot, rust, dent, or peel.

It also won't succumb to the effect of heat or cold and offers you a total of 113.2 cubic feet of usable storage space. What a great way to get rid of the clutter in your garage and open up space so you can park your car in it instead.

The Manor is perfect for all of your storage needs.

pros

cons

Gable ventilation lets out the fumes and smells from things like your lawn mower or weed trimmer

Despite its size, the Manor only has a single door that is not big enough for a riding lawn mower

Has a single fixed window that lets in natural light so you don't have to install any kind of lighting

There are no pre-drilled holes in the panels, you have to drill them yourself as you assemble the shed

Superior quality and heavy duty resin materials make the Manor a very good deal for your money

The corrugated resin parts seem to be flimsy but only until your shed is fully assembled

4. Rubbermaid Plastic Large Outdoor Storage Shed

Great for Storing Larger Items

rubbermaid_plastic_large_shed

RUBBERMAID Large Outdoor Storage Shed,159 cu. ft., Sandalwood with Onyx Roof

If you are in the market for a plastic shed for your backyard, this slightly oversized shed from Rubbermaid is just what you need. The inside dimensions are 52" wide by 72" deep by 72" high, making it one of the biggest in the 4 x 6 class.

Unlike the Keter Manor, this one offers true double-wall construction and a heavy-duty impact resistant floor that can handle the weight of your riding lawn mower and more.

A great choice for those who need a lot of storage space in a shed that won't rust, rot, or fall prey to the kids kicking soccer balls against it.

pros

cons

The use of heavy duty impact resistant plastic makes this one of the strongest and most durable sheds in its class

Due to the design, this shed is going to take two people to put it together in a reasonable amount of time

Double doors mean you can park your riding lawn mower inside and the heavy duty floor is made to handle the weight

The metal frame and screws all tend to rust in a very short time frame. You will need to paint the frames and replace the screws with stainless steel ones to avoid having this problem

Instructions are well laid out and easy for anyone, even a beginner, to follow

The doors do not stay closed in windy conditions unless you have a padlock in place, but why wouldn't you lock your shed anyway?

5. Suncast BMS7400 Resin Storage Shed

Simple, Attractive, and Quite Functional

suncast_bms7400_storage_shed

Suncast BMS7400 Resin Storage Shed

The Cascade is another excellent plastic shed from Suncast and features heavy duty double wall construction for added strength and durability.

The shingle style roof panels are reinforced with metal reinforcement for added strength. The double doors not only have windows in them, but they also feature lockable metal handles for improved security.

The interlocking pieces make the Cascade one of the easier 4 x 6 plastic sheds to assemble, perfect for the inexperienced builder.

pros

cons

Interlocking pieces not only make the Cascade easy to assemble, but also create a strong finished product

If you don't have the base perfectly level, the doors may not line up or stay closed properly

Can be assembled in less than 5 hours by one or two people quite easily

Some of the assembly holes do not line up properly, making assembly of certain parts difficult

Priced well below some of its competitors yet offers higher overall quality

The instruction manual is poorly laid out, making it hard to follow

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of 4 x 6 plastic sheds on the market, some may be better than these, far more of them fail to come even close. These are five of the most popular and better-made ones.

They will all work just fine for most needs ranging from tool and lawn mower storage to a dry place to stash your junk. Just be sure you choose one that is rated for your specific needs and be sure to follow the assembly instructions to the letter if you want your plastic shed to last.

The 4 Most Popular 8 x 6 Plastic Sheds for Your Yard

The 4 Most Popular 8 x 6 Plastic Sheds, and Buyers Guide

suncast_storage_shed

Here are some things to consider in buying a plastic shed.

8 x 6 IS ABOUT the most popular shed size in the country.

It’s not too small to be restrictive but not to large to take up half your yard.

And when you buy a 8 x 6 plastic shed, it gives you the good looks without the maintenance and excess cost

But how do you know you're getting a good deal?

We’ve shopped around a little and had a look at some of the common pitfalls shed owners have with their new sheds. To help you avoid them, here is a brief overview of what to look out for in an 8 x 6 plastic shed.

The 5 Quality Checks for 8 x 6 Shed Buyers

Doorway Size

Small doorway size makes it tough or impossible to get your mower, garden furniture and other large items into the shed.

Extra Shelving

Many plastic shed companies make their sheds to take their shelving and accessories only. It is something to think about if you don’t think you can make these parts yourself as it is an extra expense

Delivery

This isn’t your fault, but you do wear it if you receive damaged goods so be vigilant here. Make sure if you have any say in it that the delivery of your shed is by a reputable company.

If your boxes arrive broken and damaged you need to ring the company immediately and let them know.

If you purchase through Amazon.com let them know also. Unfortunately, broken plastic shed parts are forever broke. Unlike metal or wood, they cannot be ‘made to fit’ once distorted.

Flimsy

Thin plastic walls should be a dealbreaker. Reading existing customer reviews will help you identify this.

If you plan on buying online you can also compare the ‘shipping weight’ between sheds. This will give you some kind of concrete guide to the mass of the shed

Height

The shed needs to be tall enough for your long handled garden tools and you

The 4 Most Popular 8 x 6 Plastic Sheds

With those points in mind, here are 4 popular sheds we think make the cut. You can click the links in their descriptions to compare them yourself

Snap together assembly is a very tight fit, you may need to use Vaseline or some other form of silicone lube to help snap the pieces together

Another plastic shed that has been designed for areas with lots of rain, snow, and wind.

PROS

CONS

Large double doors that make it easy for you to get just about anything in or out

No predrilled holes for assembly, which means you kind of have to guess where the screws and bolts go

Has a window for natural light which helps you to not have to install any kind of electric lighting

Screws rust quickly as they are not stainless or galvanized, you should consider replacing them before you start assembly

Ventilation at top lets fumes like those from your lawn mower's gas, paint, solvents, etc. out

Raised lip at door makes sweeping out difficult and can make moving anything with small wheels out of your shed challenging

Choosing the Right Plastic 8 x 6 Shed

There is no easy way to decide which of these 8 x 6 plastic garden sheds comes out the clear winner. All are in the same basic price range and offer similar storage space.

If you are looking for easy to build solid construction, the Keter Factor is the clear winner with its snap together assembly.

On the other hand, if you can deal with drilling the necessary holes, the Keter Manor has a lot to offer.

Bear in mind that any shed with double walls and steel reinforcement is likely to provide you with a longer lifespan and stand up to the weather more effectively.

When anchored properly, this shed is not afraid of tough conditions. Although it’s a smaller shed, it is tested against 20 lbs per square foot of snow load, and reviewers have had this shed in all kinds of harsh conditions, to see it still standing in their yards.

And with the durability, comes no maintenance issues. No painting, worrying about rot or rust. This makes it a true set and forget shed. Assemble and install it properly, then benefit for years to come.

Overall:

If you’re in the market for a tough SOB, then meet your new shed. Also available at Home Depot.

PROS CONS
Neutral color scheme Panels feel flimsy
Strong and durable Requires a base/floor

Arrow Hamlet Shed

The Hamlet by Arrow

An economical solution

If you’re after storage space on a budget, then you can’t go past a metal shed. Not only are they cheap, but they keep the weather out just like a more expensive sheds does.

Metal sheds are also known for lasting. Older metal sheds tend to rust and dint, and although metal sheds are still prone to these, newer models have a better resistance to rust and corrosion.

If your sitting on the fence about metal, then this one comes with a 12 year limited warranty. So at least you know the manufacturer is willing to back their product.

Overall:

This shed is a great economical solution, even though it does require a foundation (added extra.) See the exact price, here.

PROS CONS
Economical Requires some added extras

Aspen Cedar Shake Shed KitGreenstone Aspen Shed

For the traditionalists

The shed has a traditional look, which is only enhanced by the cedar siding and large framed doors. We like cedar sheds because they give a beautiful and natural look. This shed is no exception.

That traditional know how is visible throughout the design with a large roof overhang the whole way around the shed. Shifting excess water away from the base.

At first glance you can see a very square shed, which includes a square window that lets the natural light flow in, in case you did want work in this shed.

Unlike plastic or metal sheds, cedar is a renewable resource which helps the environment. It also helps the economy because its made in the USA.

Overall:

A great looking shed for a fair price. See how much here.

PROS CONS
Traditional looking shed A little square
Overhang keeps water away Sits high off the ground

Suncast Large Storeage Shed

Suncast Storage Shed, Large

Storage superiority

Want to get your yard and garage into shape? There’s no better way than this military inspired storage shed.

You can get all of your yard equipment in including a ladder, wheelbarrow and push mower. So it’s practical, and durable. Being plastic it will take harsh conditions quite well and keep the rain out.

For extra storage options you are able to make shelves (instructions come with the shed) to fit inside the shed. Which will help keep your gear organized.

Overall:

It looks smart and provides some neat and tidy storage.  Get yours here.

PROS CONS
Smart looking shed Requires flat, level base
Quick and easy assembly Cannot paint or customize

Colonial Storage Shed

Colonial Storage Shed

The new centerpiece for your garden

This unique shed gets attention, from any angle. Its as pretty as a picture, and is the perfect shed to accompany your yard, but also store all your garden tools.

Solid wood double doors open to give easy access inside, and a large window lets in natural light. It is quite tall with 6ft sidewalls and a total height of 9’7” (including cupola), which is nice for taller folk.

The shed ships ready to paint, and requires a few bundles of shingles to complete. Almost everything is included so it could be a great project for you and the family.

Overall:

A nice piece to finish a beautiful garden. Available through Amazon, but cheaper through Suncast.

PROS CONS
Distinctive footprint A little pricey
Beautiful looking shed Requires painting

ShelterLogic Shed-in-a-Box

Shed-In-A-Box by ShelterLogic

A temporary solution

Sometimes you don’t want something permanent. Maybe you’re renting or you need to move your storage around, or you only need a seasonal solution.

Whatever the reason this steel framed, polyethylene covered shed can help. The footprint is the same, 6×6 ft, but it is cheaper and easier to setup than any of its rivals.

It does have its down sides as well. For one there is no floor, so the ground underneath the shed can get wet. It is also noisy in the wind and strong winds will eventually rip and tear at the cover.

Overall:

It’s hard to recommend or not recommend, but it is great for a portable, quick solution that will fit in the trunk of your car. See what REAL HOMEOWNERS thought of theirs here.

PROS CONS
Quick and easy assembly Items can get wet from ground
Assembles almost anywhere Fabric will eventually tear

Flower House XL

Walk in Storage House – XL

Temporary, temporary!

This solution is more like a tent than a shed.

It is a cost effective solution, for those in warm climates to keep the sun and light rain off. It will not hold up well against strong weather conditions.

This is a quick temporary solution to store your items. Some homeowners complain that the floor gets wet, and the fabric tears after a period of time. This can be due to snagging the fabric during assembly, or it rubbing against something.

The Walk in Storage house is nota bad solution, it’s just that it’s probably past its use by date when that starts happening.

Overall:

For these reasons we don’t recommend this as a permanent solution. Just a temporary one, for nice, calm weather. Read the reviews here.

PROS CONS
Cheap Temporary solution only
Everything included Fabric material can fray easily

Best Barns Danbury

The Danbury Wood Shed Kit

Quality and Convenience

The shed is designed to be easy to build. It is a lot easier than building a wood shed from plans.

For starters the tricky stuff is done for you, the doors are pre-built ready to be installed. The framing and trim come ready to be installed.

The shed comes with detailed assembly instructions, and 24/7 support if you get stuck.

But just because it is convenient, the shed doesn’t take away any of the quality. The best lumber is sourced around the world for the frame, and the siding has a 50 year warranty on it.

Overall:

A quality unit delivered right to your driveway. One click to find out more.

PROS CONS
Great Value Smaller door opening

Majestic Storage Shed

The Value Option

If you are looking for a nice shed for a nicer price, then this is it! It looks like a classic, custom built shed, and it’s all made out of lumber.

You need to do provide the shingles, paint, drip edge and foundation, so expect to spend about another $375 on these extras, but even so it’s a great priced shed.

There are added extras available, such as windows, a ramp and a skylight so you can customize the shed to exactly what you (or your HOA) want.

Being wood it is a bit heavy so we suggest you get it delivered for a small extra charge. Comes with a 10 year warranty.

Overall:

We’ll say it again, great value! See it at its best price here.

PROS CONS

It is quite a high 10ft tall, which is great for storing those odds and ends. The 8 x 12 footprint also allows you to store your riding mower, ATV and motorbike all in the same space.

The Everton has a nice look, it looks so nice in fact your neighbors will think it is a custom building!

It comes with good instructions but as far as strength is concerned, the shed is a little light on. Some homeowners are adding extra studs to help strengthen the roof and floor.

Overall:

A good standard shed that will serve you well. Available here at Amazon.

PROS CONS
Great Value Wood can come bowed/warped
Classic Style Could use more framing lumber

Lifetime 8x12 shed

8×12.5 Storage Shed

The popular choice

This clean and neat looking shed does all you expect it to do. It keeps your equipment dry, secure and has enough space for your riding mower and other yard equipment.

A big selling point of this shed is the ‘set and forget’ factor. For starters, a one man assembly is not a problem, but two people will help put the roof on easier.

There are even assembly videos online to help get you started.

And being plastic there is no maintenance, not rust or rot issues and it’s easy to clean. It’s easy to see why this shed is so popular.

Overall:

The masses agree, and it’s hard to argue for 8x12ft of maintenance free storage space at this price.

Going to be working in your shed?

If you are an avid gardener, have a hobby that’s better done away from the family home or just want a retreat to relax, then ‘Outdoor Living Today’ has a shed for you.

An issue with some sheds is there is a real lack of natural light. When inside, it’s hard to see what you are doing.

But that isn’t the case here. There is a row of windows and skylights that provide plenty of light.

It also gives the shed a nice view out, which is a great feature if you don’t want to be disconnected from your yard.

Overall:

This is a unique shed which will suit those who want a separate space to work (or play). Available at Amazon and home depot.

western red cedar 8x12 shed

Gardener Storage Shed

Always wanted a log cabin?

It doesn’t come with its own lake or secluded forest setting, but this natural cedar shed is the next best thing.

The cedar paneling on this shed gives it a more natural look and it will fit in well in tree lined areas. The lining is also made from cedar, which we think makes a big difference to the look.

Practically, it is a nice shed also. With an okay sized double door opening (5 ft) and high roof making it accessible for the taller folk.

Overall:

If you want the wood look, this 8×12 shed fits the bill nicely. You can compare prices at Amazon, or at Lowes here.

The kit is great for those who want something custom made. It is easy to make the door a little bigger, add some windows, and raise or lower the roof of the shed to whatever you want.

Please note – You will need to buy two kits to get an 8×12 shed

The shed is solid and sturdy, built with 2×4’s and primed t1-11 siding (which is plywood). The double doors open to a large 6ft wide opening, making it easy to get your larger items in and out.

The Top 10 Best 8×6 Sheds

For Small to Medium Yard Storage…

This guy could use an 8x6 shed

An 8×6 shed is great for storing your push mower, bike, garden equipment and those items your better half won’t let you keep in the house anymore.

This size is also good at sneaking under the HOA or city/county permit requirements (be sure to check your local authorities.) So an 8×6 can save you some time, paperwork, hassle and grey hairs.

There are a few good value sheds of this size around, so we have put together a list of them.

*We have linked them to Amazon, because they reliably have most sheds that are available. However many of these sheds are also available at home depot, lowes, Wal-Mart and eBay.

Enjoy.

8 x 6 Shed Comparison Table

Lifetime outdoor backyard shed

Outdoor Backyard Organizer by Lifetime

New kid on the block

Many plastic sheds try to look older than they are. This one embraces modern a little more with contrasting colors make the shed pop compared to other plastic sheds.

Inside and structurally you will find this shed like most other plastic sheds. Double doors, a high ceiling, and some natural light. In this case in the form of a shed long skylight.

And like many others, this plastic shed is not just plastic. The wall construction involves two panels on the outside and inside, then steel reinforcements in-between (like stud walls). The real difference is the modern design.

Overall:

It’s a fresher look and a foot bigger than the other Lifetime model, but it does cost extra too. See how much here.

PROS CONS
Modern looking design A little pricey
High roof and doors More shelves are added extras

Legacy 8x6 Wood Garden Shed

Legacy 8 x 6 Wood Garden Shed

Want to set yourself apart?

This is a beautiful shed. We love the look of wood sheds, but the window and door features really set this one apart. The flower boxes and shutters not only let natural light into the shed, but they look great.

Unlike some wood shed kits, with this one everything is included, even the floor kit. However, you do pay for the executive treatment. This shed is by far the most expensive 6×8 shed we could find.

If you want to make a statement, and want a jewel for your garden, then this is it.

Overall:

To see this exact shed click here.

PROS CONS
Beautiful Shed Very pricey
Will suit any yard You will want to live in it

Duramax Vinyl storage shed

DuraMate Vinyl Storage Shed

When you don’t have much choice…

The shed looks small and bland until you realize that it has been designed around strict HOA height regulations. The height is kept low to stay under fencelines, and the color is an off white (ivory)as to “keep the status quo”.

This may put some homeowners off, but the shed has also been designed with strength in mind. It has been tested against 115Mph winds and a heavy snow load.

The benefits don’t stop there. Vinyl is a good insulator (its used on electric kettles) and when combined with metal columns the shed becomes quite strong and sturdy.

Overall:

A strong contender for best value shed, although it looks quite bland. See the exact price here.

PROS CONS
Most HOA’s will like it Plain looking
Built strong Shed has a low roof

Lifetime 6418 8 x 5 shedOutdoor Storage Shed (6418)

More than meets the eye

If you like spending time in the garden and need a place for your tools and equipment then this shed fits the bill.

It looks nice, like every plastic shed you save yourself from any maintenance, or rot and rust issues.

Like you’d expect in a standard shed the doors are lockable and the shed doesn’t leak (if built on a flat surface.) Unlike a standard shed you get a high door opening (6.3ft), skylights for natural light, and plenty of shelving options. There are also vents for airflow and ventilation.

The plastic cladding has imprinted wood grain to give a wood look, but this shed isn’t the same as a wood shed. It’s not as strong or as sturdy, but it’s not expensive either.

Overall:

This shed has been produced by Lifetime for a while, and keeps getting strong reviews here.

PROS CONS
Good value Needs a flat level surface
Plenty of natural light A little bland looking

Duramax 30144 Store all

Duramax Store All Vinyl Shed with Foundation

Like retro?

Well even if you don’t this shed is a good buy. The pronounced weatherboard look will fit in with your weatherboard home. And if you don’t like the colors, you can paint it with a special high-grade exterior acrylic latex paint.

It is built strong like other Duramax sheds. The strength comes from the metal inserted columns in the Vinyl. It has been tested against 20 lbs/sq.ft and 115mph winds.

It also comes with a foundation (so no extra costs there) vents and a window so its pleasant to be inside.

The manufacturer says you could work in it, but it’s probably a little small for that.

Overall:

A great all-rounder if it suits your house, or you are willing to paint it. More details here.

PROS CONS
Built strong Retro style may not suit every yard
Comes with foundation

KETER Manor Outdoor Storage Shed

Manor Outdoor Storage Shed

An easy solution for your storage problems

It may not be the nicest looking plastic shed, but it’s great for those who want a quick solution, that will last.

It’s an easy assembly that will take you less than 5 hours. Once up you can park your push mower and gardening equipment in there, then walk away.

It comes with a fixed window and double doors. The color is a bluey-gray which looks nice against light colored homes. The two tone color scheme does give the shed a refined look.

A nice shed, that’s quick and easy to assemble. You can read more than 10 homeowner reviews on this shed here.

PROS CONS
Large door opening Color scheme may not suit every house
Durable construction Parts feel a little flimsy

Arrow Woodlake

Woodlake Steel Storage Shed

Wood grain without the hefty pricetag?

This great value metal shed sticks out against white. But its dark trim and wood grain panels mean that it won’t draw attention in a bush like setting.

If your house is exposed wood, or your property is very leafy and you don’t want a light colored shed sticking out like a sore thumb, then this is a good get.

Underneath the forest chameleon like exterior, the shed is your basic metal shed. It has metal panels treated against rust and corrosion, sliding lockable doors to keep the pests at bay and all for a very reasonable price.

Arrow have an installation demo and instructions on their site, you can see before you get started.

Overall:

This shed is a good buy if you’re after some out of the way storage. Read some homeowner reviews here.

PROS CONS

Are you renting or on a lease?

Not looking to spend a lot of money on your shed? The Arrow hamlet will give you the same 8×6 footprint, for less.

To put the shed together you really need a screwdriver (preferably a drill) and some patience. The instructions aren’t great, but the panels are predrilled and marked. Not including your foundation, the shed will assemble in around 3 – 6 hours.

The shed panels are a little flimsy, but they will hold up to strong weather in anchored properly. The shed comes with a 12 year limited warranty.

Overall:

The same 8×6 footprint, at a nicer price. Available at a good price here.

PROS CONS

Flower house

Walk-In Storage House – XXL

Storage on the go

First of all we are first to say that this is a tent not a shed, and realy should be treated as a tent. It isn’t for year round reliable storage.

Not only is there next to no security, but the flower house is light. It does come with ground anchors, but it is most likely that your items will be what keeps this shed on the ground in moderate to strong winds.

The positives about this storage tent are that the price is right, and its quick and easy to set up. But do you really want to put your garden equipment in this?

Overall:

Good for something that locks itself i.e. motorbike or ATV, or for extra storage whilst camping. Read some reviews from people who thought this was a cheap answer to a wood shed here.

PROS CONS
Easy to set up Flimsy
Cheap No security

Suncast Cedar and resin hybrid shed

Cedar and Resin Hybrid Shed

Want the best of both worlds?

If you are torn between the convenience of a plastic shed and the look and durability of a wooden one, then why not choose both!?

The cedar and resin hybrid shed looks great and is low maintenance. You get the benefits of a plastic shed; an included floor, little maintenance and easy to clean, with the pros of a wood shed, old style look, strength and sturdiness.

The 8 x 8 size makes this shed quite universal. Along with the generous door opening allows your riding mower to slot in nicely.

The walls being wood give them the strength enough to be able to attach shelves and hooks for better storage options.

The color of the plastic suits the cedar well, but the cedar does require some ongoing maintenance. It can also come warped (like all wood) so some experience working with wood is preferable when assembling.

The shed comes with a floor to keep your items clean, and hooks to store items on the walls. Skylights are standard in the roof to provide natural light and keep spiders and insects who like dark and damp places away.

Lifetime 6411

6411 Outdoor Storage Shed with Window

Something to be proud of…

Although the construction is plastic, the look is classic. Wood style wall cladding and imitation slat roof enhance the look of the shed, although the neutral two tone color scheme DOESN’T DRAW THE EYE.

Two large front doors give easy access to the shed and allow riding mowers to be stored inside. The extra height (given with cleverly made roof trusses) makes it easy to stand and move around inside.

Shelving (available as an added extra) gives this shed great storage options for small and tall items.

The great thing about kits is you can choose the cladding and roofing materials to suit your own taste. And if you want a custom job, (i.e. chicken coop or something tailor made for your garden equipment) you can easily make a few changes.

Overall:

An excellent way to go if you want a shed on a budget, and you're happy to do some of the work yourself. Get yours here.

PROS CONS
Removes difficult cuts from building Can be an expensive option
Customizable to suit your needs Requires nails/screws and wood

DuraMate Vinyl Storage Shed

DuraMate Vinyl Storage Shed (with foundation)

Tested in harsh conditions…

The shed is designed to meet tough height requirements from HOA’s so it’s not as tall as the other sheds. Taller folk will consider it a little low and have to bend down in there.

It’s selling point though is its strength. Tested against 115mph winds and it will also stand up to a heavy snow load. This is a great feature for the price. The foundation being included does help save money but you still require plywood to go over the top.

The instructions are tough to read but all the panels are labelled so some common sense and you should be assembled in 6 hours.

Another oversight is that there are no vents with the shed. They are available as an added extra. We do recommend you have ventilation of some kind.

Overall:

Good, simple and strong, although you will need to make some adjustments to get it functioning properly. See the exact price, here.

PROS CONS
Strong and sturdy Not for tall people
Durable No ventilation
Quick and easy assembly

ShelterLogic 8x8x8

Peak Style Shed (ShelterLogic)

Quick and easy

If you are after some refuge for your larger garden equipment, or just a storage solution that is easy to set up and portable, then this fits the bill.

The doors allow for easy access for your ride on mower, ATV or snowmobile, and the shed is tall enough for you to ride it in there.

Although it is a fabric shed it is made quite tough. The fabric is treated for UV, color fading and is waterproof. The fabric is ratcheted onto a 1-3/8 inch steel frame for strength.

Reviewers who live in snow conditions are happy with how the peak style roof handles the snow, “just like a metal roof.”

Overall:

Great for larger garden equipment that could use a break from the weather. Get yours here.

PROS CONS
Easy and quick to assemble Can be noisy in the wind
Cheaper option Offers no real security

Best Barns Northwood 10′ X 10′

A great quality shed, made for harsh conditions

Best Barns Northwood 10' X 10' setup

Best Barns deliver great quality, durable sheds and the Northwood is no exception.

They are not only built to withstand tough conditions, but they are tested in tough conditions.

The Northwood 10×10 is tested against 100+mph winds and 40lbs snow loads.

Even the design of the Northwood is about resisting harsh weather. The unique overhang is designed to protect the doors and any windows against the harsh weather.

Other features include a durable siding which comes with a 50 year warranty, and specially selected framing timber which comes all the way form Sweden.

Our Verdict:

If you expect harsh weather then you can choose a shed that is proven to withstand those harsh conditions.

PROSCONS

Lifetime 6433 Outdoor Storage Shed with Windows

The universal shed

Lifetime 11x11 6433 Shed openIf you are only going to own one shed, and you need it to store everything, then this will do the job nicely.

To store smaller items the Lifetime 6433 comes with a peg board and some shelving, with more shelving available as added extras.

For larger items, the high pitched roof with extra headroom and large door opening makes it easy to get ride on equipment in and out. The shed can even be extended with a kit from Lifetime which is also an added extra.

With all these options available this shed is quite adaptable to any circumstance. It also comes with all the mod cons in windows that open, a stain and impact resistant floor, a nice look and the ability to add shelving.

These options are why this shed is more expensive than others. But if you are willing to pay extra for these things, then this is an excellent shed that will suit any large yard.

Our Verdict:

A large shed. Big enough to securely hold all your garden tools and equipment, and free up your inside space. Available home delivered from Amazon.

PROSCONS
Easy assemblyDoor opening smaller than other sheds
Nice accessoriesBase not included
Made in the USA

Storboss Mountaineer Storage Shed

Is security important to you?

Storboss Mountaineer MHDIf your other half is ‘asking’ you to get your stuff out of the house and into a shed, then you might want something secure for your prized possessions.

If you’re thinking you want a half shed/half safe, then meet your next shed.

The Storboss Mountaineer is strong and secure. Not only are the steel panels thicker than standard size, the door is reinforced from behind, and the roof is reinforced from the sides. The company stands behind its strength with a 15 year limited warranty.

But just because it’s protected doesn’t mean it’s small. The swinging doors open to a massive 8ft wide, to allow easy access for ride on machinery and any other equipment. The high gable roof gives you a minimum height inside the shed of 6’2” tall.

The sheds appearance is quite standard, as far as metal sheds go. The exterior is quite plain with its one tone color scheme and no features, but doesn’t look ugly.

Our Verdict:

We picked this shed because it looks secure. Although it’s called the Mountaineer, we’d call it the safe. It will certainly do the job in any yard.

PROSCONS
Strong and secureBland appearance
Extra large door openingNo natural light sources
Great value

Basic 10×10 Storage Shed Frame Kit

Take the guesswork out of framing your shed

E-Z Frames 10x10 Storage Shed KitIf you lack confidence in your DIY skills, but still want a great looking wood shed on a budget, then this frame kit was made for you.

It takes a lot of the planning out of the process. There is no need to cut any fancy angles, and the kit comes with a material list so you know exactly what you need, and what size is has to be.

The brackets are for 2×2 lumber, which is cheap but still strong enough for your shed.

The best part is you can finish your shed how you want. If you want to you can create a different sized shed, you can even call up the manufacturer (E-Z frames) so they will create a custom made pack of brackets for you.

Our Verdict:

If you are lacking in confidence and experience but still want a wood shed, then this is a great inexpensive option.

PROSCONS
Allows you to customize your shedA little expensive for what it is
Easy to assembleDoor assembly needs attention
Material list providedBase not included

Shelterlogic Round Style Storage Shed

A great temporary solution, or just something to take the weather off your motorbike or ride on

ShelterLogic 10x10 round style shed blankAs far as fabric sheds go, this one is quite resilient. The frame is made with high grade steel and is powder coated for extra resistance against the elements.

The fabric is strong and treated for a whole heap of things including anti-fungal agents, UV resistance and even ‘anti-aging’. I guess that keeps the wrinkles off the shed, but at the very LEAST IT WILL KEEP THE WATER OUT.

This thing will go up in around 2 hours and can be assembled by one person. We are unsure of how long the fabric covering will last, but on average you should see 5 years out of it before it needs to be changed. Of course the harsher the weather, the shorter the lifespan.

Our Verdict:

A good value buy, especially for moderate to warm climates.

PROSCONS
Great valueExtra Augers almost required
Easy to setupNo floor
Great customer serviceRoll up door can be fiddly
Easy to move

10 x 10 Display Shade Kit

Bring it out then put it away?

Caravan Canopy 10x10The Caravan Canopy is easy to pack and unpack. It folds itself back in and slips into the provided bag. This makes it easy to keep in the attic or basement, and get out when needed.

Because its a metal frame it is quite stable, although there is no real security. You can purchase ‘sidewalls' which are really just a 4 wall privacy screen, not suitable for your tools, but good for keeping the sun and light rain off of things.

This canopy is a good quality version, there are some plastic joints but is a lot more stable than the cheaper models.

This isn't for typical shed things, like storing tools. However it can be used for working in warmer conditions, and provides extra shade when needed.

Our Verdict:

A great instant solution, surprisingly easy to unpack and assemble. But not designed for storage.

PROSCONS
Very quick to assembleOnly 4 small legs
Quite sturdySecurity non existent
Lightweight and easy to moveNot for harsh conditions

Suncast Storage Building

The Average Joe of sheds

Suncast Storage Building 10x10This is a good shed without being great. If you are after something to do the job and a decent price then look into this shed.

The two tone look is quite neutral and will suit most yards. The manufacturer does make accessories for the shed, which are available as added extras.

Unfortunately, the walls are too thin to hang items from, but you can purchase shelving from Suncast for smaller items. The shelving accessories are made for holding particular tools and equipment.

Assembly is mostly snap together, although some soapy water and a mallet wont go astray. Like all other plastic sheds, a solid flat base is required so the panels all fit together and the doors work.

Sorry this review is a bit bland, but to be honest so is the shed. There's nothing to be excited about, this is in every sense of the word ‘average!'

Our Verdict:

A low maintenence solution, which will keep your equipment secure and dry

PROSCONS
Looks goodBasic appearance
Good valueWalls are too thin to hang items

WoodBridge Storage Shed

It’s a shed that looks like a shed

Duramax 10x10There’s no hiding that this thing looks kind of like a shipping container. The one tone color scheme and completely flat sides don’t help the cause either. To be fair, it’s a shed that looks like a shed.

But the truth is no one is buying this shed because of its looks. This plastic shed is significantly cheaper than other plastic sheds out there, and whilst being cheap, is tough enough to withstand harsh weather conditions.

The WoodBridge’s vinyl cladding is quite thin, but vinyl doesn’t need to be thick to be an effective insulator. The paneling is also reinforced with metal columns to help keep the rigidity of the shed.

The manufacturer claims that the shed is fire retardant and tested to 115mph winds, when anchored properly, and to a quite heavy snow load.

Our Verdict:

We like this shed because assembles quickly, and it will still store everything a more expensive 10×10 will, keeping it dry and secure.

PROSCONS
Strong and sturdyPlain looking
Tested against harsh weatherBase not included

Williamsburg Colonial Storage Shed

If your yard is your kingdom, then you need a special crowning piece for your shed

Williamsburg Colonial Garden Storage ShedNot only something that’s solid, but also looks great, and gives a great range of function.

Everything has been thought of at Little Cottage Co. to GIVE YOU A REALLY GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR SHED.

The sidings come attached to the wall panel section to ensure the shed is square when it goes up. And the door handles come with a locking mechanism so there are no ugly padlocks needed. The windows work, and ALMOST EVERYTHING COMES READY TO ASSEMBLE and paint.

You do need to provide the paint, shingles, dripedge, and floor (although you can buy the floor as an added extra). You can also customize the shed further with added extras such as flower boxes, extra doors and floor kits.

This is the most expensive option of our 10. You do pay for all THE QUALITY AND CARE that goes into building this shed, along with the option to customize it. Available in 10×10 and a great addition to your yard.

PROSCONS
Great qualityA little pricey
Added extras allow for customizingRequires shingles and other pieces

Little Cottage 12 x 10 ft. Pinehurst Colonial Panelized Garden Shed

Pinehurst Colonial Panelized Garden Shed

Want a great looking, quality shed and someone else to take care of all the details?

Everything is thought of with this shed kit, partly because the manufacturer has a lot to live up to. The Little Cottage Company is situated in Ohio’s Amish country, which gives them some shed building ‘cred' in our books.

So when we saw this, we weren't surprised. If you want A GREAT SHED THAT WILL LAST, then this is it.

With the assembly, everything that could be done for you is. The trim and siding are 98% pre-primed ready for top coat. And ALL THE HARDWARE IS INCLUDED ready for assembly. The siding is treated and resists rot and termites. The shed even arrives with a PRINTED COLOR INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

You do have to provide the paint, shingles and drip edge flashing (roof material to stop leaks). But the ready-made doors, window and custom crafted louvers come standard.

There are plenty of added extras to customize the shed including a flower box, in door windows, and a floor kit.

Our verdict:

If you’re looking for quality that only comes at the top end, then this is it. Expect to pay a little extra though.

PROSCONS

Best Barn Cambridge

Best Barns Cambridge 10′ X 12′ Wood Shed Kit

Want an amazing looking shed but without all the math?

Everything is thought about with this shed.  All the shed pieces are cut for you, and THE DOORS ARE EVEN DELIVERED PRE-BUILT.

The siding is man-made which comes with a 50 year warranty. And the timber used for the frame is selected from the most stringent grading system. This means your shed frame is being made from some of the best wood available.

The instructions are detailed and easy to follow, but there is also a TECHNICAL SUPPORT LINE YOU CAN CALL 7 DAYS.

There are a few added extras for the shed, including windows, and a treated wood ramp. A premium floor is offered which raises the shed, but you are required to cut and construct it yourself.

Our Verdict:

Although it could be a little pricey depending on your added extras, the biggest downside from owning this shed is that you may like it so much you might want to use it as a man cave. Then you have to buy another shed for your mower. It's available here.

PROSCONS

Vinyl Coated Murryhill Shed

Vinyl Coated Murryhill Heavy Duty Shed

This shed is made for larger boys toys…

From your ride on mower to your snow mobile or motorbike, THE ROLL UP GARAGE DOOR will make it easy to get in and out of there.

The siding is heavy duty steel, coated in vinyl to help protect it from the elements. THE EXTRA THICKNESS OF THE VINYL also provides some rigidity in the structure.

Although the lack of natural light really prohibits this shed from being a full on work shed, the roller door allows enough light for you to do a job or two.

This shed really deserves a concrete slab, and having a flat level surface will make it easier for you to install it to.

Reviewers tell us that the instructions aren’t very good, so you might want to look them over before installing.

Our Verdict:

A heavy duty, low maintenance shed with EASY ACCESS TO YOUR TOYS AND EQUIPMENT. Available here.

PROSCONS
Heavy dutyAssembly a little tedious
Roller doorInstructions poor
Second doorNo windows or skylights

Woodville Wood storage shed

The Woodville 10×12 wood shed kit

Need to please the family too?

The Woodville 10×12 wood shed kit will easily store your ride on, and other garden equipment. But the fun is in the shed raising.

Because it’s MOSTLY ALL DONE FOR YOU, it’s a great family project. The wood frame and trim is pre-cut and the panels and doors are ready to install. All you need to do is teach the kids (or wife) how to paint!

The barn roof INCLUDES 3FT HIGH LOFT STORAGE, for extra capacity. Great for those once a year items like camping equipment, and Christmas decorations.

At Bestbarn, they go out of their way to GET GOOD LUMBER. The framing lumber is sourced and imported in from Sweden. The SIDING IS MADE IN THE USA and comes with a 50 year warranty.

To build the shed, you do need to provide the shingles, roof edge and level base, but the quality of everything else is taken care of.

Our Verdict:

A well built, family friendly shed. A great quality storage solution/small work shed for the price.

Arlington 10-Feet by 12-Feet Steel Storage Shed

Arlington Steel Storage Shed (AR1012-C1 )

Looking for a 10×12 shed on a budget?

It is still the same size and will hold the same items, such as ride on mowers, bicycles, garden tools, and patio furniture… it’s only QUITE A LOT CHEAPER THAN ITS COMPETITION.

The shed comes with precut and pre drilled parts, making it easier to assemble. It comes with many screws and washers which are required, but are quite fiddly. The instructions are available online so you can see what you’re in for before it arrives.

For those who are wary of cheaper purchases, the shed comes with a LIMITED WARRANTY FROM ARROW FOR 12 YEARS. The steel is also galvanized and the paint finish is baked on enamel which is quite hardy.

There are accessories available for this shed which are needed for some. Especially the roof strengthening kit for those who live in snow conditions.

Our verdict:

Great value for your money. A 10×12’ shed with a good finish.

PROSCONS
Great ValueSome added extras are required
Looks neatSteel is quite a thin gauge
Sliding doors open wideNo natural light

Arrow Steel and Vinyl Shed

Arrow Steel & Vinyl Siding Garden Storage Shed

User friendly, and budget friendly

If your wife is nagging you about your tools cluttering up ‘her' house, then this shed will get your marriage BACK ON TRACK QUICKLY.

It is user friendly with the sliding doors open up 4.6ft wide which is enough to get a ride on mower in. The top of the shed also measures 7.1ft so it is plenty big, even for taller folk. The 10×12 size makes it EASY TO STORE YOUR GARDEN TOOLS and pool equipment, along with a mower and any excess patio furniture.

Assembly is a little tedious. There are plenty of screws and washers that come included with the shed that need installing. We recommend a cordless drill rather than a screwdriver.

The siding is vinyl coated to help protect it from the elements. The HORIZONTAL SIDING HELPS ADD STRENGTH AND RIGIDITY to the shed which will also extend the sheds life.

Like all Arrow sheds, the foundation isn’t included but there is information in the instructions which cover how best to do it. It is a cost factor to add into your budget though.

Our verdict:

Again another value shed from Arrow, however the added extras do raise the total cost.

PROSCONS
Great ValueSome added extras are required
Vinyl adds durability against weatherSteel is quite a thin gauge
Sliding doors open wideNo natural light

Suncast Storage Shed

Suncast Storage Building

A decorative solution to your storage needs…

The window shutters, flower pots and gable roof are all LITTLE DETAILS THAT ADD TO THE APPEARANCE.

It’s user friendly with a tall roof, and the floor is included. Although you do need to build a flat, level foundation for this shed to sit on. (Details come in the instruction manual)

Unfortunately, the walls are too thin to hang your items from. But the roof is quite strong and the manufacturer claims that it can hold heavy snowfall @ 15 lbs per square foot. It is MORE THAN ENOUGH TO KEEP YOUR STUFF DRY.

The 10 x 12 size means that you can’t park a tank in it, but it is ample for your garden tools, pool equipment, odds and ends from your garage and even your ride on mower.

Our verdict:

A good looking, plastic all-rounder available at a reasonable price.
